Toshiba Launches Laptops with 2nd Gen Intel Core “Sandy Bridge”
The budget-class Toshiba Satellite L650 (L655 in retail) 15.6-inch series will include models with 2nd Generation Intel Core i3 and i5 dual-core processors, while the higher-end entertainment A660 / A665 15.6-incher and M640 / M645 14-incher will additionally offer quad-core Core i7 chips, as well as the new Nvidia GeForce GT 500M Series graphics with Optimus technology. The Satellite E305, designed in collaboration with Best Buy, will include a 2nd gen Core i5 processor.

Toshiba’s Qosmio X505 18.4″ entertainment and gaming notebooks will be available with the new Core i5 dual-core and i7 quad-core CPUs, besides the GeForce GTX 460M video cards.

According to the press release, the A660 / A665, M640 / M645, E305, and X505 will sport Intel’s WiDi technology for wireless Full HD video streaming to HDTVs, USB 3.0, and Blu-ray optical drives.

The “Sandy Bridge”-powered Toshiba laptops with the Core i7 quad-core processors will be available in January at major retailers, e-tailers and direct from Toshiba on toshibadirect.com. The Satellite laptops featuring the new Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processors will be available in February, while Best Buy’s exclusive Satellite E305 will be available in spring 2011.

With the new CPUs, the Satellite L650, A660, M640, and Qosmio X505 will start at $699.99, $684.99, $749.99, and $1,299.99, respectively. There’s no info on pricing for the E305.
