Vivitek is no stranger to projectors, such as the H9080FD and the H1080FD. At CES 2011 this year, they unveiled the Qumi.
The Qumi is part of a new line of the company’s LED-based projectors, and weighs in at 1.6 pounds. It is also the first pocket projector to be 3D ready with Texas Instruments DLP Link technology. It is definitely ready for work or play, and good for sharing digital content.
Speaking of 3D, Vivitek told me that they had perfected 2D to 3D conversion, so you can watch a 2D film in 3D, provided you’re wearing the glasses. Personally, I think they might have been boasting a little too much.
It should be available in May 2011 for an estimated price of $499.00(USD). Key features and specifications are after the jump.
Qumi Key Features/Specifications:
* Native WXGA (1280×800) resolution
* Up to 300 lumens of brightness and a 2500:1 contrast ratio
* 3D-Ready (via DLP Link) and a DLP chipset from Texas Instruments
* 1.6 pounds; Dimensions: 6.3”(w) x 1.2”(h) x 3.9”(d)
