Toshiba Satellite C600 Series Laptops Review

Toshiba Satellite C600 Series
Toshiba has released its new Satellite C600 series of entry level laptop for the budget conscious but without compromising on the performance and style. These notebooks are priced under $500.

Toshiba has used its durable Trax textured finish in black on the Satellite C600 notebooks. This texture helps keep the dirty finger marks away from your laptop. The notebook comes in two size variants of 14 inch and 15.6 inch wide screen. The Toshiba Satellite features a HG TruBrite widescreen display, a fast DDR3 RAM and Hard drives in the range of 250GB to 320GB in size

Other features include 16:9 aspect ratio, 720p resolution, built-in high-speed Wireless-N connectivity, multi-touch TouchPads, DVD Super multi drives, Windows 7 Home premium edition (Something that you get in all Dell Studio XPS Laptops), and a choice of Intel® Pentium® Processor T4500 or AMD Athlon™ II Dual-Core Processor P320 processors make these laptops an ideal choice for both professionals and personal use. The Toshiba Satellite C600 series of notebooks also integrates Toshiba PC Health Monitor, which checks proactively checks the device’s critical components for any problems such as heat and hard drive movement and battery performance. The graphics used is an ATI® Integrated Graphics card in the notebook. A 1.3 mega pixel webcam also comes as s standard feature.
Toshiba Bulletin Board

Some other very useful features include the Toshiba Bulletin Board – This is a customized mini homepage which basically works as an organizer. You just need to drag and drop all you important items you don’t want to forget like notes, important files, important pictures, links, etc.

Toshiba Media controller

This feature lets you easily share your videos and pictures you have in your laptop on a big screen TV or on another computer.

Toshiba real time

This is another feature in the Toshiba Satellite C600 laptop which replaces the old fashioned method of finding your files by asking where is it. Instead you can ask when you used it? I’m not sure if this is a great feature. I guess as users use it they will be able to judge if it is

At a price point of under $500, Toshiba Satellite C600 series packs in a great punch. It’s sure to fly off the shelf quickly. [hubpages.com]

Toshiba ZX900 Genesis 3D Cell TV

Toshiba took the consumer electronics world by storm when they announced their Cell based 3D TV at CES 2010. The Cell TV is a fresh take on the role of an HDTV in the consumers living room. Powered by multiple eight-core Cell processors, the same processors used in Playstation 3 game consoles and high-end computers, the Toshiba Cell 3D TVs supposedly possess 10 times the computing power of a standard desktop computer! Toshiba plans on exploiting this insane processing capacity of the Cell powered 3D ready TVs for advanced, on-the-fly conversion of 2D video content into 3D material.

Toshiba plans on leveraging this processing advantage towards improving the media handling capabilities of the Cell TVs. Like most other 3D capable TVs being released in 2010, the Cell TV from Toshiba will be internet ready and will have the ability to stream Netflix, video on demand, and various other digital content. The Cell TV is also packed to the brim with accessories and gadgets in an attempt to make it the premium home theater system for 2010-2011. Features include a built in 3D Blu-ray disc player, a 1Tb (yes, Terabyte!) internal hard drive, video phone capabilities and a host of other features.

The 3D technology used in the Cell TV is similar to most 2010 3D TVs. The Toshiba Cell TV will rely on active shutter glasses and the display of frame-sequential content to deliver an effective 3D viewing experience. Toshiba have improved upon their backlight performance in their previous generation of backlit LED TVs, and the Cell TVs will feature an astounding 512 independent dimming zones for the LED backlight, thus helping deliver exceptionally good black levels and contrast. While the display is rated at a ridiculous 480Hz, keep in mind that this is achieved via modulating the scanning backlight, so it isnt really going to show much improvement over regular 240Hz or even 120Hz LED TVs.

Currently, Toshiba has announced the ZX900 Genesis series, their flagship Cell TV range, with a choice of a 55 inch and 65 inch screen size. Read on for a more in-depth review of the Toshiba Cell TVs. Toshiba has suggested that the Cell 3D TVs will be released towards the end of 2010.

Toshiba Officially Reveals Next Gen Android Tablet

Toshiba Officially Reveals Next Gen Android Tablet
Though it is still unnamed, Toshiba unveiled what it calls the Next-Gen Android tablet at CES, a 10.1-inch, high-definition tablet with a host of different features.

Toshiba's tablet will feature a multi-touch display with Adaptive Display technology, which automatically adjusts the screen's brightness and color depending on the lighting environment. With the help of Toshiba's Resolution+ video enhancement technology, the display will also have improved color, contrast, and sharpness.

Unlike some of its competitors, the Toshiba tablet will have a replaceable prismatic lithium ion battery that can easily be removed.

For video chatting purposes, the tablet will come equipped with a two megapixel front-facing camera in addition to its five megapixel rear-facing camera for taking photos and video. Additionally, integrated GPS and compass will allow users to utilize location-based services.

The tablet will also sport the dual-core processor from NVIDIA, the Tegra 2 with integrated NVIDIA graphics, and will run Google Android OS 3.0, aka Honeycomb, which will be specially designed for tablets.

Other features include HDMI, USB, and mini USB 2.0 ports, as well as an SD card slot and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Hands On

TabletPCReview spent some time with a prototype unit that was running Android 2.2 and not Honeycomb. We expect Toshiba will squeeze a lot out of the Tegra 2 processor, and that was evident by the video resolution enhancement technology, which we assume strains the limits of lesser processors.

Also of note is the removable battery. Integrated batteries are often thinner and lend themselves to a sleek, single piece body -- the iPad is a perfect example. Toshiba seems to be thinking of those who would gladly sacrifice a touch of sexiness in order to have the option of squeezing more years out of a device.

Kudos to Toshiba for also including a textured and rubberized backing. Of all the Galaxy Tabs we tested, we preferred the Verizon version for its similar texture. It's just easier to grip.

The Toshiba tablet will be available in the first half of 2011.
