Plantronics Voyager Pro UC is apparently the world’s first Bluetooth headset with sensor technology
During the recent All Things Digital’s “Dive into Mobile” conference, Plantronics demoed the new Voyager Pro UC, calling it “an intelligent headset with sensor technology.” The device that builds on top of the original Voyager Pro, comes with some handy features like smart call routing, mobility presence and smart whisper alerts.

The first of the three allows headset to “know” if it’s on your ear and routes the call to the headset or handset as appropriate. This handy feature works even in mid-call, which is super cool.

Thanks to the mobility presence, Voyager Pro UC will change your status to “In a call” on other lines (Skype, Microsoft Lync, Cisco Communicator and mobile phone) when you’re in a middle of a call.

Finally, with the help of Smart Whisper Alerts you will know when your favorite contacts (so called VIPs) send you and email or an instant message – Plantronics’ new headset will whisper “you got a new message” in your ear.

The new Voyager PRO UC will be officially announced in January (at the CES?) and will work both with mobile phones and PCs (a USB adapter will come in the box).
