Asus Eee Pad EP121 : teaser for CES 2011

Asus Eee Pad EP121 : teaser for CES 2011
Asus now released some more details on the famous Asus Eee Pad EP121, releasing a video teaser. The film reveals some new features of the device and possible presentation at CES 2011.

Asus Eee Pad EP121, according to the latest rumors, is a 12-inch tablet, Intel Core i5 (probably a low-voltage model for notebooks, but there are no clear specifications) and Windows 7 operating system. Although some rumors they had fixed the presentation in early January, almost no one could imagine that the announcement would take place at CES 2011. The news, as well as confirmation comes through a teaser video, which adds a little more detail the technical details of the tablet.

The first new feature is named: Despite some initial uncertainty, it seems that Asus have given this type of devices the name Eee Pad (not Eee Slate). The video also show the integration of a HDMI port, at least a USB interface, a webcam, SD card reader and what might seem to resemble a stylus to use the device more easily. The digital pad can turn into a typewriter, adding a detachable keyboard (as seen at Computex).

Asus Eee Pad EP121 is a multimedia tablet through which the user can play movies in high definition HD, listen to music, play games and read eBooks. The stylus wills not only take notes, but also to draw freehand. The tablet will be a window on the world, allowing users to share their content on Facebook, YouTube or Twitter by simply clicking a button.

The CES 2011 will certainly be the stage for the presentation of tablet characterized by the combination of ARM + Android, but Asus has decided to bet on the pair first Intel-Windows 7, though Microsoft’s latest operating system has no compatibility with the touchscreen surfaces ( here is perhaps the inclusion of the stylus?). Windows Seven, however, also presents some advantages: greater compatibility and choice for dedicated software applications and multitasking features.

Eee Pad EP121 reveals a device suitable for home users, but also the professional who uses the Microsoft Office suite, relying on applications Word, Excel and Outlook. The video opens with a question: what are the best ideas for a tablet? The answer is simple: expandability, multitasking, performance, keyboard and battery life. All these features are collected in Asus Eee Pad EP121.
